AnyFile provides file sharing, file-request, preview, analytics, and subscription features. This policy explains the personal data we process when you use AnyFile, visit our website, or receive or submit files through an AnyFile link.

Data we process

We process account information such as your name, email address, authentication information, subscription status, and account settings. We also process files and file metadata you upload, including file names, sizes, content types, previews, and sharing settings.

When someone uses a file-request page, we process the submitted file and any requested contact information, such as an email address. We also process service activity such as share views, downloads, upload events, timestamps, IP addresses, user-agent information, and security or audit events where needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use data

We use personal data to provide and secure the service, authenticate users, store and deliver files, generate previews, process file requests, provide usage analytics, administer subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, communicate service messages, and comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we rely on performance of our contract to provide AnyFile, legitimate interests to secure and improve the service, consent where specifically requested, and legal obligations where applicable.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate AnyFile, including infrastructure, database, file storage, email delivery, payment processing, and application hosting providers. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us. Payment card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored directly by AnyFile.

Retention

We keep account and service data for as long as your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. Uploaded files and associated share or request data are deleted when you delete them, subject to short-lived backups, operational logs, and legally required retention periods.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account and file data, including access controls, server-side authorization, unguessable public links, transport encryption, and operational monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
